Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla flavoring
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups finely chopped apples
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup Wesson oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, beat eggs, sugar, and vanilla flavoring.
  2. Sift together flour, soda, and salt.
  3. Add dry ingredients to the egg mixture and mix well.
  4. Stir in chopped apples until evenly combined.
  5. Add chopped pecans and mix well.
  6. Pour in Wesson oil and mix until smooth.
  7. Pour batter into a greased and floured 13 x 9-inch pan.
  8. Bake in a 350°F oven for about 30 to 35 minutes.
  9. Do not open the oven door for the first 30 minutes of baking.
  10. Let cool slightly before cutting into squares.
  11. Keep covered to stay moist.
