Ingredients

  • 4 tart apples
  • 6 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 (40 oz.) can pitted sour red cherries, drained
  • 1 (17 1/2 oz.) package puff pastry sheets

Instructions

  1. Pare, core, and slice the apples.
  2. Drain the cherries and add them to the apples.
  3. Mix the dry ingredients: sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  4. Cut the puff pastry sheets into 4 squares each.
  5. Arrange the apple-cherry mixture on each pastry square.
  6. Sprinkle the dry ingredient mixture over the filling and top with dots of butter.
  7. Fold the pastry over to form a triangle and seal the edges.
  8. Bake at 425°F for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
