Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 cups flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup Wesson oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 cups chopped apples
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Beat the eggs slightly.
  2. Add sugar and mix until fluffy.
  3. Sift dry ingredients together: flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder.
  4. Add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture.
  5. Continue to beat until well combined.
  6. Gradually add the oil while mixing.
  7. Fold in the chopped apples, chopped nuts, and vanilla flavoring.
  8. Pour the batter into a tube pan.
  9. Bake at 325°F (163°C) for 1 1/2 hours until done.
