Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups oil
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups apples, peeled
  • 1/2 cup nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, oil, eggs, flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt until well blended.
  3. Peel and chop the apples, then fold them into the batter.
  4. Pour the mixture into an ungreased 9 x 13-inch pan.

  6. Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
