Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 6 or 8 apples, sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon or nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, lemon juice, flour, salt, and cinnamon or nutmeg in a bowl and let stand.
  2. Prepare the pastry while the filling is standing.
  3. Line a deep pie pan with pastry.
  4. Add the sliced apple filling to the crust.
  5. Dot the filling with butter and drop lemon juice over the top.
  6. Cover with the top crust.
