Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/2 cup chopped maraschino cherries

Instructions

  1. Cream butter, sugar, salt, egg, and vanilla together until smooth.
  2. Sift together flour, baking powder, and baking soda.
  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, mixing well.
  4. Fold in chopped nuts and chopped maraschino cherries.
  5. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a lightly oiled or sprayed cookie sheet.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
