Ingredients

  • 3 acorn squash
  • 3 red apples
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 1/4 cup boiling water

Instructions

  1. Cut the acorn squash in half lengthwise and remove the seeds.
  2. Wash, core, and dice the apples.
  3. Combine the diced apples with maple syrup and margarine.
  4. Fill each squash half with the apple mixture.
  5. Brush the filled squash with margarine.
  6. Place the stuffed squash inside a 14-inch Dutch oven.
  7. Pour in 1/4 cup of boiling water.
  8. Bake for 1 hour at medium heat.
  9. Ensure the water level is maintained during baking and replenish as necessary.
