Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 cup water
  • 2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 24 Ritz crackers
  • cinnamon or allspice to taste
  • butter

Instructions

  1. Bring sugar, water, and cream of tartar to a boil.
  2. Add Ritz crackers to the boiling mixture.
  3. Boil for 2 minutes then remove from heat and cool.
  4. Pour the mixture into a prepared pie shell.
  5. Sprinkle cinnamon or allspice over the top.
  6. Dot the pie with small pieces of butter.
  7. Bake in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 30 minutes.
  8. Serve hot with ice cream.
