Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1-inch ginger root, sliced
  • chicken pieces
  • 2 cups rice
  • 12 cups water
  • 4 tablespoons patis (fish sauce)
  • green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large pot or wok, sauté garlic, onions, and ginger root until fragrant.
  2. Add chicken pieces and brown them as desired.
  3. Add rice and 12 cups of water to the pot.
  4. Season with fish sauce (patis).
  5. Cook until the rice is soft and the mixture is soupy.
