Aunt Ann's Rolls are soft, buttery, and slightly sweet bread rolls perfect for family dinners or special occasions, offering classic homemade comfort and warm aroma.

Ingredients

  • 5 cups flour
  • 2 packages yeast
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups water

Instructions

  1. Heat water until hot enough to melt butter.
  2. Add sugar and cool to lukewarm.
  3. Add yeast, let set for 5 minutes or until bubbly.
  4. Add egg and salt.
  5. Add flour 1 cup at a time and mix well. When you have a soft dough, turn out on a floured surface and knead well.
  6. Cover and let rise until double in bulk.
  7. Pinch or cut into rolls and place on a greased pan.
  8. Cover and let rise again until double in bulk.
