Crisp cheese balls are savory, cheesy bites with a crunchy rice Krispies coating, perfect as appetizers or party snacks for cheese lovers and entertaining gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb Cheddar cheese, grated
  • 2 c flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 c Parmesan cheese
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 2 c Rice Krispies
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dry mustard

Instructions

  1. Soften the butter and mix it with the grated Cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, salt, cayenne pepper, and dry mustard.
  2. Add the flour to the cheese mixture and blend well.
  3. Stir in the Rice Krispies by hand until evenly coated.
  4. Shape the mixture into small balls.
  5. Place the cheese balls on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  6. Flatten each ball with a fork.
  7. Bake at 375°F for about 10 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
  9. These cheese balls freeze well and can be stored for future use.
