Ingredients

  • 8 cups sliced squash
  • 2 cups sliced onions

  • 2 cups sugar

  • 1 teaspoon celery seed

Instructions

  1. Wash and slice the squash.
  2. Peel and slice the onions thin.
  3. Put the squash in a pan and add the onions.
  4. Cover with water and salt.
  5. Let stand for 2 hours.
  6. Drain well.
  7. Bring all ingredients to a boil, then add the squash, onions, and pepper.
  8. Bring back to a boil and boil for 5 minutes.
  9. Pack into hot jars and seal.
  10. Process in a hot water bath for 15 minutes.
