Ingredients

  • 2 c. white sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • dash of salt
  • 1/2 c. milk, canned
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 to 1 c. nuts

Instructions

  1. Mix sugar, cocoa, syrup, salt, and canned milk in a saucepan.
  2. Cook on low heat until Crisco melts.
  3. Increase heat to high and bring to a boil, then boil for 2 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat; add vanilla and nuts.
  5. Place the pan in cold water and beat until the mixture thickens.
  6. Drop spoonfuls onto wax paper to cool and set.
