Ingredients

  • 29 oz. can sliced peaches, drained
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Drain the sliced peaches and set aside.
  3. Cream butter or margarine and sugar until fluffy; beat in egg and almond extract.
  4. Thoroughly mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually beat the dry mixture into the creamed mixture.
  6. Spread the dough into a greased 9 x 9-inch pan.
  7. Arrange peach slices on top of the dough.
  8. Sprinkle sliced almonds over the peaches.
  9. Bake for 1 hour or until golden brown.
