Ingredients

  • 1 qt. sauerkraut, drained
  • 1 pt. whole tomatoes
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Cut bacon into small pieces and fry until crisp.
  2. Remove bacon from the skillet and drain on paper towels.
  3. In a casserole dish, combine drained sauerkraut, brown sugar, and whole tomatoes.
  4. Add 2 tablespoons of bacon drippings to the mixture and stir well.
  5. Sprinkle the cooked bacon pieces over the top of the casserole.
  6. Bake uncovered in a 350°F oven for 1 hour.
