Baked Bread Pudding With Apples

Ingredients

  • 4 slices bread
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 c. raisins (optional)
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 3/4 c. hot milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2 apples, pared and diced

Instructions

  1. Toast bread and cut into cubes.
  2. Put into buttered casserole and cover with hot milk and melted butter.
  3. Let soak for 20 minutes.
  4. Beat eggs; add remaining ingredients except brown sugar. Combine with bread and pour brown sugar over the top.
  5. Bake in a 300° oven for 40 minutes.
