Ingredients

  • 1 lb. sausage or bacon, crumbled
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 6 slices bread, cubed
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese, grated

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brown the sausage or fry the bacon and crumble. Drain excess fat and let cool.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs.
  4. Add the milk, salt, and dry mustard to the eggs and mix well.
  5. Add the cubed bread to the egg mixture and stir to combine.
  6. Fold in the grated Cheddar cheese and cooked meat.
  7. Pour the mixture into a greased 9 x 2-inch glass baking dish.
  8. Refrigerate overnight to allow flavors to meld.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes until golden and set.
