Ingredients

  • 6 to 8 oz. unseasoned croutons
  • 12 oz. sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 12 eggs
  • 1 can Carnation milk
  • enough regular milk to make 4 cups
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1 lb. bacon

Instructions

  1. Grease a 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
  2. Pour the unseasoned croutons into the prepared pan.
  3. Sprinkle grated sharp Cheddar cheese over the croutons.
  4. In a bowl, beat 12 eggs until well blended.
  5. Add Carnation milk and enough regular milk to make 4 cups total.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Pour the liquid mixture evenly over the croutons and cheese in the pan.
  8. Refrigerate overnight to allow flavors to meld.
  9. In the morning, cook the bacon until crispy and crumble it over the top of the casserole.
  10. Bake at 325°F (160°C) for 1 hour until puffed and golden.
