Baked Gouda

- Cut the cheese round in half crosswise to form two circles; remove wax.
- Separate the crescent roll dough into four rectangles; firmly press perforations to seal.
- Layer two rectangles by placing one on top of the other; repeat with remaining rectangles.
- Press each combined rectangle into a 6-inch square and place a cheese circle in the center of each.
- Pull the corners of the dough to the top center of the cheese and press tightly to seal, twisting off any excess dough.
- Brush each with beaten egg.
- Place the wrapped cheese on an ungreased cookie sheet, 3 inches apart.
- Bake at 350°F for 18 to 22 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool for 10 minutes before serving.
