Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb round steak
  • flour
  • bacon drippings
  • 2 cups tomatoes
  • 1 onion
  • 1 green pepper

Instructions

  1. Cut the round steak into 1/2-inch thick pieces.
  2. Pound the steak with 1/2 to 1 cup of flour, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  3. Place the coated steak in bacon drippings and fry until well browned on both sides.
  4. Add tomatoes, sliced onion, and chopped green pepper to the skillet.
  5. Cover the skillet and transfer to a preheated oven.
  6. Bake at 300°F for about 45 minutes until the steak is tender and flavors meld.
