Delightful baked stuffed morels feature tender mushrooms filled with a savory mixture of garlic, chives, cheese, and white wine, perfect for elegant appetizers or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • morels
  • boiling water
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. chopped chives or wild onion
  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • 4 to 6 Tbsp. white wine
  • 1/4 cup fine bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Quickly wash the mushrooms to remove dirt from the pits.
  2. Boil the morels in boiling water for 2 minutes and then drain.
  3. Remove and chop the stems of the mushrooms.
  4. Mix the chopped stems, garlic, chives, salt, black pepper, and white wine in a skillet or saucepan; simmer to blend flavors.
  5. Stir in the bread crumbs and grated Parmesan cheese; mix well.
  6. Spoon the stuffing into the cavity of each mushroom and place in a baking dish.
  7. Drizzle melted butter over the stuffed mushrooms.
  8. Bake, covered, at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes.
