Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. venison steak
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 package instant onion soup
  • 8 oz. sour cream
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • oil
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions

  1. Cut the venison steak into thin strips and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Roll the seasoned meat in flour.
  3. Brown the meat in oil and sauté the chopped onions.
  4. Place the browned meat and sautéed onions in a small roasting pan.
  5. Mix the onion soup with 1 1/2 cups of water and pour over the meat.
  6. Bake at 325°F (160°C) for 45 to 60 minutes.
  7. Mix 2 tablespoons of flour with sour cream and a small amount of water to make a slurry.
  8. Add the sour cream mixture to the meat and simmer for 10 minutes without boiling.
  9. Serve over cooked noodles or rice.
