Ingredients

  • 1 quart jar your favorite fish (salmon, trout, etc.)
  • 1 medium onion
  • 10 crushed saltine crackers
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 pound Co-Jack or Colby cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream

Instructions

  1. Place the fish in a medium-sized bowl.
  2. Combine the diced onion, egg, crushed saltine crackers, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Mix all ingredients together well.
  4. Cut the cheese into 1/2 inch squares.
  5. Take some of the fish mixture and place one cheese square inside, making sure all of the cheese is covered.
  6. Gently place the fish ball in a deep fryer.
  7. Cook approximately 3 to 5 minutes or until the fish floats.
  8. Serve with sour cream.
