Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 package pineapple and orange Jell-O
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 bananas, mashed
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 large can evaporated milk, chilled
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

  1. Dissolve Jell-O in boiling water and chill slightly.
  2. Cream together cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla.
  3. Beat mashed bananas into the cream cheese mixture until fluffy.
  4. Blend in the prepared Jell-O.
  5. Chill until the mixture is partially set, stirring occasionally.
  6. Mix graham cracker crumbs and melted butter.
  7. Press half of the crumb mixture into the bottom of a 12 x 7-inch dish.
  8. When the Jell-O mixture is partially set, whip chilled evaporated milk until stiff.
  9. Add lemon juice to the whipped milk.
  10. Beat until stiff peaks form.
  11. Slightly beat the Jell-O mixture and fold it into the whipped milk.
  12. Pour the combined mixture into the dish over the crumb layer.
  13. Sprinkle remaining graham cracker crumbs on top.
  14. Chill until set and firm.
  15. Garnish with maraschino cherries and banana slices before serving.
