- Grease the bottom only of an 8 or 9-inch round baking dish.
- Prepare the yellow cake mix for a single layer as directed on the package.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
- Microwave on Roast or Level 7 (Bake), uncovered, for 6 to 7 minutes, turning the dish one-half turn after 3 minutes.
- Microwave until a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool the cake completely before topping.
