Baptist Pot Roast

A hearty pot roast with tender beef, potatoes, and carrots, seasoned with onion soup mix and Worcestershire sauce, perfect for family dinners or gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 lb sirloin tip or rump roast
  • 8 medium potatoes, peeled and quartered
  • 8 carrots, scraped and cut in halves
  • 1/2 package dry onion soup mix
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • dash of Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Quickly brown the roast in a skillet.
  2. Place the roast in a large roaster pan with potatoes and carrots.
  3. Cover the meat with dry onion soup mix.
  4. Season the meat, potatoes, and carrots with salt, pepper, and a dash of Worcestershire sauce.
  5. Pour 1 1/2 cups of water over the ingredients.
  6. Cover the pan tightly and bake at 275° to 300°F for 3 hours.
  7. Cook about 30 minutes per pound of meat.
