Ingredients

  • 3 pounds pork roast
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon pickling spices
  • 1 large bottle ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Cook the pork roast until it falls off the bone, then shred the meat finely.
  2. Tie the pickling spices in gauze to create a spice bag.
  3. Mix the shredded meat with the remaining ingredients, including the spice bag.
  4. Simmer on low heat for 2 hours.
  5. Remove the spice bag and serve the pork on buns.
