Ingredients

  • 1 lb. dry pinto beans
  • 1 small onion, peeled
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • leftover ham

Instructions

  1. The night before, wash and sort dried beans.
  2. Wash beans 2 to 3 times, alternating between crock-pot and colander.
  3. When water runs clear, cover beans in crock-pot with about 2 inches of cold water and add the whole peeled onion.
  4. Turn crock-pot to low and cook overnight.
