Ingredients

  • 1 lb. whole mushrooms
  • 1 c. flat beer
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 beaten egg
  • light oil

Instructions

  1. Wipe mushrooms with a damp cloth to clean.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the beer, flour, and beaten egg to make the batter.
  3. Dip each mushroom into the batter until evenly coated.
  4. Fry the battered mushrooms in very hot oil, turning with tongs until evenly browned.
  5. Drain the fried mushrooms on paper towels to remove excess oil.
