Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1/2 c. catsup
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 pt. cooked kidney beans, drained
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder, 1/2 tsp. chili powder or 1 tsp. oregano (optional)
  • cheese

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef in olive oil; add onion, catsup and Worcestershire sauce. Add sufficient water to prevent burning and simmer 20 minutes. Add kidney beans; salt and pepper to taste. Garlic powder and chili powder or oregano may be added. Continue simmering about 30 minutes more. Serve on buns, using only one-half of bun. Top with slice of cheese and melt in hot oven. Serve hot.
