Beanless Chili

Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground beef or turkey
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 1 medium green pepper, finely chopped
  • 4 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp. cider vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp. allspice
  • 1/4 tsp. coriander
  • 1 tsp. cumin
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 2 c. crushed tomatoes

Instructions

  1. Cook meat, garlic, onion and green pepper in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat, stirring frequently to break up meat.
  2. Cook until onion is soft and meat has lost its pink color.
  3. Add remaining ingredients.
  4. Bring to a boil.
  5. Cover and reduce heat. Simmer for 45 minutes, stirring frequently.
  6. Let simmer longer for even better flavor.
