Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon caraway seed
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1/2 to 2/3 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a metal pie pan.
  2. Mix sifted flour and baking powder in a large bowl.
  3. Add sugar to the flour mixture.
  4. Pour in vegetable oil and add eggs.
  5. Mix everything together with a fork until combined.
  6. Add raisins and caraway seed, then mix into the dough.
  7. Gradually add milk, starting with 1/2 cup, until the dough is not too wet.
  8. Knead the dough with your hands until it comes together.
  9. Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it in the prepared pie pan.
  10. Bake for 45 to 60 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
