Tips & Substitutions

For a tender roast, consider marinating the beef overnight in a mixture of olive oil, vinegar, and spices. If you're short on time, pre-sliced beef from the deli can be used as a substitute. If green peppers aren’t available, try using red or yellow peppers for a different flavor profile. Adjust the seasonings to your taste, adding more garlic or onion powder if desired.

Can I use a different type of cheese instead of mozzarella?

Absolutely! While mozzarella adds a creamy texture, you can substitute it with provolone or cheddar for a different flavor. Just ensure the cheese melts well to complement the dish.

How can I make this recipe spicier?

To add some heat, incorporate sliced jalapeños or a dash of cayenne pepper. You could also use spicy pepper jack cheese instead of mozzarella for an extra kick.

Is there a vegetarian version of this recipe?

Yes! Replace the beef roast with a hearty substitute like tempeh or sautéed jackfruit for a similar texture. You can keep the other ingredients as they are for a delicious vegetarian variation.
