Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup light beer
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1 pound round steak, cut into 1-inch strips
  • 2 medium onions, cut in wedges
  • 2 medium green or red peppers, cut in strips
  • 1/4 c. water

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, stir together beer, 3/4 cup water, bay leaf, dried thyme, and ground pepper.
  2. Stir in the beef strips; bring to boiling.
  3. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 55 minutes.
  4. Add onions and peppers; simmer about 20 minutes or until beef is tender.
  5. Remove bay leaf before serving.
