- Cut the beef and pork roasts into small chunks.
- Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Place the meat in a large pot, cover with water, and add the whole garlic.
- Bring to a boil, then cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until the meat can be shredded with a fork.
- Remove from heat and shred the meat, then add sliced onions.
- Put the pot back on the heat and simmer uncovered for 1 to 2 hours.
- Serve the hash on rice or make sandwiches, optionally adding barbecue sauce.
