Ingredients

  • 5 lb. beef roast
  • 2 to 2 1/2 lb. pork roast
  • 1 whole garlic
  • 4 medium onions
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions

  1. Cut the beef and pork roasts into small chunks.
  2. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Place the meat in a large pot, cover with water, and add the whole garlic.
  4. Bring to a boil, then cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until the meat can be shredded with a fork.
  5. Remove from heat and shred the meat, then add sliced onions.
  6. Put the pot back on the heat and simmer uncovered for 1 to 2 hours.
  7. Serve the hash on rice or make sandwiches, optionally adding barbecue sauce.
