A flavorful marinated beef roast infused with spices, marinated overnight, then baked with onions for a tender, aromatic main dish perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 5 lb. roast
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1 tsp. mace
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 2 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 medium onions
  • 1 Tbsp. onion powder
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 c. salad oil

Instructions

  1. Mix dry ingredients and rub into meat on both sides.
  2. Place in baking dish and drizzle lemon juice, vinegar, and salad oil over meat.
  3. Cover dish and turn meat occasionally for 4 hours or more.
  4. Let meat marinate overnight.
  5. Cover meat with sliced onions.
  6. Add water and bake at 300°F for 2 hours.
