Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 to 2 lb. round steak, cubed
  • 1 pkg. onion soup mix
  • 1/2 lb. mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 c. white wine
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 3/4 c. Land O Lakes no-fat sour cream
  • 1/2 tsp. dried tarragon
  • cornstarch or flour to thicken

Instructions

  1. Saute beef cubes in a pan sprayed with nonstick coating (Pam).
  2. Add 1 cup water, white wine, minced garlic, and onion soup mix. Bring to a boil and simmer for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
  3. Add sliced mushrooms and dried tarragon; simmer for 10 to 15 minutes until mushrooms are tender.
  4. Thicken the sauce with cornstarch or flour.
  5. Remove from heat and add no-fat sour cream. Stir until blended.
  6. Serve over rice or noodles.
