Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. sage
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 4 thin slices onion
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 small beaten egg
  • 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup hot dog relish
  • 4 thin slices fresh tomato

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients except sliced onion, tomato, and relish.
  2. Shape into 8 flat beef patties.
  3. Place sliced onion, tomato, and 2 tablespoons relish on half of the patties.
  4. Top with another beef patty and seal the edges around the meat.
  5. Place the assembled beefwiches on a broiler pan.
  6. Broil for 6 minutes on each side.
