Ingredients

  • 1 lb bacon
  • 1 package fresh mushrooms
  • 1 head lettuce
  • 1 medium red onion
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 6 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 3 ounces Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Fry the bacon until crispy and set aside. Slice the mushrooms and set aside.
  2. Tear the lettuce into bite-size pieces and place on a serving platter.
  3. Slice the red onion and separate into rings. Layer the lettuce and onion rings on the platter.
  4. Combine 1/3 cup sour cream, 3 teaspoons of sugar, and enough milk to thin the mixture; drizzle over the lettuce and onions.
  5. Mix the mayonnaise, remaining 3 teaspoons of sugar, and enough milk to thin the mixture; set aside.
  6. Sprinkle the sliced mushrooms, crumbled bacon, and grated Parmesan cheese over the layered salad.
  7. Do not pre-mix the two dressings or toss the salad. Chill for at least 3 hours before serving.
