Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup quick cooking oats
  • 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 3 tablespoons flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9-inch square pan.
  2. Combine flour, oats, brown sugar, butter, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl and blend until crumbly.
  3. Reserve half the crumb mixture.
  4. Press the remaining half of the crumb mixture into the prepared pan.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips and chopped pecans on top of the crust.
  7. Stir flour into the caramel topping and drizzle over the chocolate chip and pecan layer.
  8. Sprinkle with the reserved crumb mixture.
  9. Bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  10. Cool in the pan for 1 to 2 hours before cutting and serving.
