Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter, soft
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. molasses
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 tsp. ginger
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 c. flour

Instructions

  1. Mix the butter, sugar, soda, salt, molasses, vanilla, ginger, and cinnamon in the order given.
  2. Chill the dough until it can be handled comfortably.
  3. Make into rolls about 1 1/2-inch diameter.
  4. Cover with wax paper and refrigerate overnight.
  5. Slice thinly and place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  6. Bake in a 350°F oven until brown, about 15 minutes.
