Ingredients

  • 3 (16 oz.) cans pork and beans
  • 1 (16 oz.) can sauerkraut, drained well
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 1/3 cups tomato ketchup
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 6 slices bacon

Instructions

  1. Fry bacon until limp (half done).
  2. Remove bacon from the pan and sauté chopped onion in the bacon grease.
  3. Cut up the bacon and mix it with the drained pork and beans, sauerkraut, brown sugar, ketchup, and sautéed onion.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and bake at 325°F for 45 to 55 minutes.
