Beth'S Chocolate Chip Cake

Ingredients

  • 3 c. sugar
  • 3 c. plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. Crisco (butter flavor)
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 c. chopped pecans (optional)
  • 12 oz. bag mini chocolate chips (use 1/2 bag only)

Instructions

  1. Cream Crisco and sugar; add eggs, beating well after each one. Measure dry ingredients together and add flour mixture, alternating with milk.
  2. Add flavoring.
  3. Add chocolate chips and nuts, mixing well with a wooden spoon.
  4. Spray tube pan with Pam. Put into a cold oven and bake for 90 minutes in a 325° oven.
