Better Brussels Sprouts

- Cut off stem ends and score a small 'X' at the bottom of each Brussels sprout.
- Over low heat, melt 2 1/2 tablespoons of butter with 2 1/2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large pot.
- Add the garlic cloves; cook for 2 to 3 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the prepared Brussels sprouts; toss to coat with the butter mixture.
- Pour in 1 cup of chicken broth; season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Cover the pot and cook over low heat for 10 to 15 minutes until sprouts are tender but not overcooked.
- Drain the sprouts and return them to the pot.
- Before serving, toss the sprouts with melted butter and chopped parsley.
