Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 c. honey
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, soften and cream the butter.
  2. Slowly beat in the honey.
  3. In a small bowl, beat the eggs well and add to the creamed mixture.
  4. Sift together the flour, baking powder, and cinnamon.
  5. Add the dry mixture to the creamed mixture and mix thoroughly.
  6. Fold in additional ingredients as desired.
  7. Grease a 9-inch tube pan with butter.
  8. Line with waxed paper; pour in the batter.
  9. Bake for 30 minutes at 350°F.
  10. Lower oven temperature to 325°F and bake for 20 to 25 minutes longer until cake is golden brown and tests done.
  11. Cool in the pan on a wire rack for 15 minutes.
  12. Invert onto a serving plate, remove waxed paper, and cool completely.
