Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm water (110°F)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salad oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup flour
  • a pinch of ginger

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix yeast and warm water.
  2. Let stand for 5 minutes until frothy.
  3. Stir in sugar, salad oil, and egg.
  4. Beat in 1 cup of flour until smooth.
  5. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured board and knead until smooth.
  6. Roll dough into a 7-inch round.
  7. Fold the dough in half just off center.
  8. Place on a baking sheet and let stand for 25 minutes.
  9. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
