Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • a dash of salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 1/4 cups milk
  • 1 cup Crisco oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup cherries
  • 1 tablespoon anise
  • 1 cup walnuts

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients to form a dough.
  2. Shape the dough into a loaf shape.
  3. Bake at 350°F on a cookie sheet until golden brown, about 12 minutes.
  4. Allow to cool, then cut into slices like bread.
