Tips & Substitutions

For a creamier texture, consider blending the cottage cheese before mixing it with the other ingredients. If you're out of Mozzarella, try using a mix of other cheeses like Provolone or Gouda. To add more flavor, incorporate fresh herbs such as basil or parsley into the cheese mixture. This dish is versatile and can be customized with additional vegetables like mushrooms or bell peppers.

Serving Suggestions

This Spinach Lasagna pairs beautifully with a simple side salad dressed in a light vinaigrette. For a more complete meal, serve it alongside garlic bread or Italian Zucchini Squares. A glass of red wine can enhance the flavors, making it a perfect dish for gatherings or family dinners. Enjoy it fresh from the oven or reheat for a quick weeknight dinner.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. To reheat, cover with foil and warm in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) until heated through, about 25 minutes. You can also microwave individual portions for quicker reheating, ensuring they are heated evenly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use fresh spinach instead of frozen?

Yes, you can use fresh spinach! You'll need about 10 ounces of fresh spinach, which should be wilted and chopped. Sauté it briefly in a pan before adding it to the cheese mixture to reduce excess moisture.

How can I make this lasagna gluten-free?

To make this Spinach Lasagna gluten-free, substitute regular lasagna noodles with gluten-free lasagna sheets. Many brands offer gluten-free options that cook similarly and will work well with this recipe.

What can I do if I don't have cottage cheese?

If you don't have cottage cheese, you can use ricotta cheese as a substitute, though it will create a slightly different texture. Blending the ricotta can help achieve a creamier consistency similar to cottage cheese.
