Ingredients

  • 3 oz. box black cherry Jell-O
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • dash of salt
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 1 lb. can pitted dark sweet cherries
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/2 c. whipped cream

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the black cherry Jell-O, sugar, and salt in boiling water.
  2. Drain the cherries, measuring the syrup.
  3. Add water to the syrup to make 3/4 cup total.
  4. Add the syrup and lemon juice to the Jell-O mixture.
  5. Chill until the Jell-O is thickened.
  6. Fold half of the cherries into 1 cup of the Jell-O.
  7. Pour the mixture into a large mold.
  8. Chill until set but not firm.
