Ingredients

  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup margarine, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 (16 oz.) jar seedless blackberry jam
  • 1 cup strawberry preserves
  • 3 cups self-rising flour
  • 2 teaspoons allspice
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves
  • 1 cup buttermilk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large bowl, beat margarine and sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Stir in blackberry jam and strawberry preserves.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine self-rising flour, allspice, cinnamon, and cloves.
  6. Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk to the jam mixture, mixing well after each addition.
  7. Divide batter evenly into three well-greased cake pans or pour into a Bundt pan.
  8. Bake for 40 minutes.
